A rough day of doing budgets and generally fart arsing around. After having square eyes from looking at figures on the computer screen we went home at 4pm. The generator was on for 2hrs longer today to try and freeze the cow we slaughtered for the staff.
When we got home, Tiff raked up all the loose grass from the slashing. I fitted a shade netting roof over Jackson's home-made sandpit. Jackson played in the sand before Ant and Lara arrived for a sundowner at 5PM.
We sat on the deck and jackosn raced up and down on his motorbike, albeit at a bit of a granny pace. He is teething again (molars I think) so he was very uncomfortable, but still the cutest star ever.
We had 2 beautiful Auger Buzzards fly past us calling on numerous occasions. Jackson also pointed out a group of vultures high above the mountains with his usual "Oo, oo".
Sundowners turned into moon-uppers and at about 9pm after eating bowls of Tiff's fabulous popcorn, we decided we needed some real food. Ant started making pasta, and that was pretty much all we had in the cupboard - no sauces or veg or anything. The gas ran out and we in our drunken state tried for about 30 minutes to reconnect another gas bottle without the correct coupling. Lotsa laughing, no pasta.
We gave up and the girls made us a spectacular meal of 1 slice of frozen bread, topped with grated cheese, sundried tomatoes and mayonnaise, the girls only had a half a slice each - proper munchies food!
At 10:30pm the generator went off so we lost all lights. By then we were all pretty 'tired' anyway so decided to call it a night.
We had a good laugh and a very fun night. Thanks Ant and Lara .......... and Tiff for the popcorn ........ and also to me for being a generally funny guy.
